Association of Hole in the Wall Camps

“I have heard it said, that you can leave camp, but camp never really leaves you,” said Paul Newman on his Hole in the Wall Camps.

“I wish there was a camp like this in every city, in every state, in every country in the world.”

“I won’t tell you what I did every day because there was no end to the experiences; in short, this was the best week of my life.”

“Now I have a feeling that I am healthy, that everything is possible in my life and that I can manage all obstacles in my life.”

“I have heard it said, that you can leave camp, but camp never really leaves you,” said Paul Newman on his Hole in the Wall Camps.

“Newman’s Own Foundation’s generosity assists the Association and Foundation of Hole in the Wall Camps in providing children with serious illnesses an opportunity to participate in safe, medically sound, and fun camp programs around the world. At camp, children living with more than 150 different medical conditions become empowered, restored and recapture the simple joys of childhood. Together, we are changing the world for the better and assuring that Paul’s legacy lives on. It is our commitment to use funds from Newman’s Own Foundation wisely in pursuit of this important mission.”

— David Horvitz, Chair of the Hole in the Wall Camps Foundation

About the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps

The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps unites the world’s largest family of camps for children with serious and life-threatening medical conditions. Our mission is to serve existing Hole in the Wall Camps as well as foster the responsible development of new camps and programs - reaching as many children as possible. Today, there are eleven member camps, five global partnerships and eight camps in various stages of development. Our work spans the globe, touching lives in 39 countries and all 50 United States.
Since 1988, our camps and programs have improved the lives of more than 164,500 children. Hole in the Wall Camps and programs are the legacy of founder Paul Newman. The Hole in the Wall Foundation was established in 2005, and is the strategic fundraising arm of the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps. It was created to raise funds to support the Association, support sustainability of member camps, and provide guidance and seed monies to new camps and programs of similar principles or purposes.
