High Point Students Make a Difference, Earn $10K Honor

High Point Regional High School students who won a USA Weekend Make A Difference Day award celebrated Thursday with pizza, ice cream sundaes and a few speeches from their admirers … Their efforts in 2007 led to their selection by the magazine as one of 10 award winners nationwide. As a result, Paul Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation will present a $10,000 check to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund in their honor.
The fund has raised more than $60 million supporting the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans.
