Red Cross Chapter Gets Newman's Own Foundation Grant

The Manatee County Chapter of the Red Cross received a grant of $10,000 from Newman’s Own Foundation, a charitable organization founded by Paul Newman, a release from the American Red Cross said.

A 15-passenger van will be purchased with most of the grant money, Bobbi Larson, chief executive officer of the American Red Cross Manatee County, said in the release.

The van will be used in programs such as Youth Corps, Services to Armed Forces and Disaster Response. It will make it easier to transport volunteers, distribute in-kind donations and enable young volunteers to embark on projects. … more »
